Hope

That moment of unprotected violence,

Sarah barely escaped with her life.

She struggled to erase the nightmarish memories with drugs.

Unfortunately,

the unthinkable happened.

Nine months later a baby is born.

Plagued forever with brain defects, she fights.

Ironically, her name is

Hope.

    1. De, I am so pleased you liked it! Sometimes the writing prompt leads me down a sad road. Unlike other writers, I go with my gut and am not afraid to write pieces like this. I was going to an ironic twist and I think I pulled it off. Thanks for stopping by to read and for your sweet comments! ♥

  13. This was both sad and hopeful. Sometimes even in the worst situations, there is still hope that can be found.
