The Truth

The pains were coming faster now.  She lay on her bed panting, tears pouring down her cheeks. Why hadn’t she confided in anyone before now?    She had been careful to wear baggy clothes to hide her secret.  She had explained away the morning sickness to the flu.  If anyone had suspected, no one had said a word.

After the physician at the clinic had confirmed her worst fears, she had never gone back.   She screamed in terror.   Her father raced in, shocked to discover his 14 year old daughter giving birth.  She realized she could no longer hide the truth.
